H&G Underground container lift (UCL)

The UCL underground collection container system is easy to install. The basis for H&G’s underground systems is a foundation container made of hot-dip galvanised steel available for all container types from 60 to 2500 litres, depending on customer wishes and/or requirements.

Depending on requirements/regulations, a foundation pit must be excavated for the foundation container. If possible, the ground at the location should slope away from the system, as any gradient towards it will require the building of a drainage gutter.

A base course of gravel is laid on a stable subgrade in the foundation pit. The pre-installed base containers have four suspension points and can be lifted into position using a 4-strand chain hoist of the appropriate length and load-bearing capacity. The UCL foundation container is set into the foundation pit by a crane and then aligned appropriately. If the system includes several foundation containers, they can be installed touching together or with a clearance gap between them.

Now the control electronics and the key-operated switch can be connected. For this, a 5×1.5² electrical connection is to be provided by the customer.  The spaces at the sides of the foundation container are to be filled with layers of material that allows good drainage, which is then compacted. The surrounding surface is to be returned to its normal state, in accordance with the specifications. To ensure the surface, which functions as a walkway, fits into the surroundings as inconspicuously as possible, steel floor plate, red, green or black and white EPDM rubber or even paving can be used.
